King Grey has unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability. However, solitude lingers closely behind those with great power. Beneath the glamorous exterior of a powerful king lurks the shell of man, devoid of purpose and will.
30 years since his youth ended? He’s gotta be like 15 by now, so that’s 15 years before he died. I always thought he was super old when he died, a king well past his prime, but I guess we didn’t see any wrinkles on his arm. He just looked kind of skinny and exhausted.
I hope we eventually learn more about who he used to be, and the world he left behind. He never talks about it, but did he have any loved ones? Any family or friends? Any enemies he regrets leaving alive? If he was murdered, was his murderer caught, or did their plan work? Did his old kingdom suffer under a tyrannical new king? If so, does he have any responsibility to save them? We know he loves his new life, perhaps even more than his old one, but is there anything he misses? Maybe the tech, and the culture, and the daily stuff like flushing toilets, flying cars, and TVs.
