Lin was just an ordinary high school student. However, on the day she transferred to a new school, she received a video game which transported her to the realm of King Arthur. There, she encountered a mysterious sorcerer who told her that her quest was to locate and gather the Knights of the Round Table and find the Holy Grail.
The visual novel and manga, Qishi Huanxiang Ye, chronicled Lin’s adventures in Arthurian legend. After being summoned to a virtual Camelot,
Lin was entrusted with a sacred duty by Merlin himself to revive the Knights of the Round Table and recover the Holy Grail.
Although fearful of this monumental responsibility, Lin chose to embark on the quest. She knew that if she could awaken the knights from their slumber and restore the grail,
peace would return to the kingdom. And so Lin’s journey began, transporting readers to a fantastical world of magic, chivalry, and darker forces plotting Camelot’s downfall.
Qishi Huanxiang Ye followed Lin’s quest as she traversed misty forests
and remote corners of the realm searching for the knights. One by one, Lin discovered Lancelot, Percival, Bors, and others,
using her wits and Merlin’s guidance to break the curses ensnaring them in everlasting sleep.
However, with each knight revived, the threats against Camelot grew stronger. Lin realized that she was in a race against time to find the grail before sinister magic prevailed. The visual novel built anticipation as readers wondered if Lin would gather the knights
and grail in time to save the kingdom from doom.
Ultimately, Qishi Huanxiang Ye was a journey of courage against insurmountable odds, of believing in oneself in the darkest of days. Although a playful take on the familiar Arthurian legend, at its heart, the visual novel and manga were about pursuing hope and purpose in a world that seeks to rob us of dreams. For Lin, her quest gave her the strength to become the hero Camelot needed. And for readers, her tale was a reminder that there is light to be found, even in our darkest of days, if only we keep searching for the good left in the world.
